Jamilla Wu is a freelance illustrator that graduated with a BFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts. She was born and raised in the concrete jungle, New York City. Her inspiration derives from plants and animals. At one point in her life, she thought about being a veterinarian until she found out she couldn’t stomach the sight and smell of blood. A lot of her ideas are influenced by fairy tales, fables, myths, legends and other stories with animals playing a key role. She is well versed in silkscreen printmaking and book binding.
